Overview:

Responsibilities:

Perform moderate technical tasks related to the analysis of telecommunications technician series. You will complete a full range of activities including development plans, specifications and contract administration, inspections, test reports, and safety checks.
  • Perform the most difficult and complex installations of both software and hardware,
  • Maintenance, diagnoses, and repair of a variety of electronic equipment in one or more of the following areas: call accounting, desktop messaging, voice mail, cellular/PBX integration, fiber or other network equipment. PBX or key system installation, programming, repair, and maintenance.
  • FTTx and Copper installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Focus on the telecommunications system hardware installation, deployment and the connectivity that is required to make the system work together.
  • Build the infrastructure, physically install telecommunications hardware, and make the necessary connections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Four (5) years of journey level training and experience equivalent to that of a Telecommunication
  • Technician II skills including installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment such as that used in the County
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies, standards, and certification requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, ability to work independently, and communication skills.
