Summary:
Under the direction of the Team Leader, Material Technician accept, stage and verify material for warehouse management system movements.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.
KEY FOCUSES:
- Maintain accuracy of all material movements in accordance with policies and procedures
- Perform all required warehouse management system movements
- Move freight to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles and storage areas, either manually or using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or other lift equipment.
- Follow written or oral instructions
- Stage material based on procedures.
- Sort material during loading or unloading process.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks
- Monitor and manage issues and discrepancies for all material processes.
- Evaluate quality of all materials and prepare required documents.
- Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
- A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract.
- Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
- Experience in SAP is considered an asset.
- At least 1-2 years of previous Material Handling or Shipper/Receiver experience in a Logistics or Warehouse environment is required.
- Candidates with CSO or BSO is required
- Fall Protection certification are an asset.
- Use of telecommunications equipment, mobile phone.
- Ability to operate lift equipment at various heights in a warehouse setting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills
- Able to work at heights with fall protection/tied down in a warehousing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills.
- Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and the protection of FMGOC and client’s property.
This is a full time position located at the Syncrude Base mine, north of Fort McMurray, AB
