Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Network Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining network hardware/software to support the business. This includes hardware technologies such as switches, firewalls, access points, phone system, LAN/WAN, etc. A strong software knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policies, LINUX and VMWare Virtualization is also necessary.

Successful candidates will combine technical abilities, communication skills and a business aptitude to provide a solid infrastructure for the betterment of the business.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work as a member of a team to configure, install, and maintain network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as servers, system software, software applications, printers, switches, cabling, and Internet service providers
  • Follows policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, license, use, support, security, and backup
  • Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs
  • Provides training to end users on software and equipment usage
  • Responsive to requests to resolve help desk issues
  • Communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data. Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems


Qualifications

  • Analytical and Problem Solving – Must be able to identify problems within scope of responsibility and implement corrective action. Requires high level of analytical ability working with network and a variety of hardware and software configurations.
  • Technical Skills – Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, VMWare Virtualization, switch and firewall configuration.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to think from a business & technical perspective
