Position: Network Engineer
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting all LAN, WAN and VoIP Infrastructure technology at Longo’s. This position is also responsible for performing needs assessments, analysis and recommendations; documenting process improvements as well as implementing preventive and detective controls. This position requires interaction with cross functional teams including both internal resources and external partners and suppliers. This position includes all aspects of network monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, enhancements, and documentation. This position is also involved in new network installs, configurations, and upgrades relative to supported technologies.
Accountabilities:
Network Design and Security:
Provide network support in all areas of the corporate office, branches and Data center network environment including: VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers and wireless access points.
Production support in escalation – administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, enhancing and providing advanced infrastructure support for the existing Voice, and UC Systems including: CUCM, CME, Unity, CCX, CCP, voice gateways.
setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access
Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.
Complete and analyze wireless site surveys and participate in wireless network design and Complete and analyze wireless site surveys and participate in wireless network design and deployments
Respond to LAN/WAN/Internet service outages with timely corrective actions as required and take overall responsibility for service restoration of LAN/WAN and network related Severity 1/major business impacting outages.
Work with Third-Party Providers to assist in Problem resolution of network and telecommunication Problems.
design, install, implement, manage, and maintain the L2/L3 Network equipment’s.
Provisioning of Network Resources for new site builds and upgrades to existing sites.
Working with IT Security Engineers and Managers to Remediate network-related security vulnerabilities.
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Coordinate planned system maintenance with internal department managers to ensure minimal impact to internal and external customers.
Participate in IT department tactical planning and budgeting with Senior Manager, IT Operations.
Manage system alerts and provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary.
Provide backup support for other members of the IT Team.
Process Improvement & Internal Control:
Maintains documentation of and control over all network diagrams
Reviews and documents current processes and practices
Compares current processes to industry “best practice” and identifies opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices
Identifies areas for cost reduction/avoidance and leads the process to realize savings and provide reporting of progress
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
University / College Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent having hands-on technical working experience in design, deployment and support with Voice, Telecommunication, and UC systems including but not limited to: CUCM, CUC, CME, UCCX, CCP, Scripting, Call Routing, E.164 dial plan.
Progressive hands-on technical working experience with Internet Protocol (IP) Network systems & technologies, including, but not limited to routing, switching, Firewalls.
Knowledge and technical working experience on full stack solution in the Meraki platform
Knowledge and experience of Cisco and Meraki wireless architectures and WLAN controllers.
Comprehensive knowledge of network/server operating systems including Cisco, Microsoft and Linux.
CCNP certification preferred; Meraki portfolio experience is a plus.

Working Conditions:
The position requires periodic work outside regular business hours to meet ongoing support and project deadlines and business requirements as they arise
The work is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions
The work involves limited physical effort, as would normally be encountered in an office environment
