Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer
Duration: Full Time
Location: Remote / Chicago, IL 60606

Pay Rate: $80,000 – $100,000/annum

Description:

This is a unique opportunity to work with the latest network solutions working to build the first 5G inflight experience.

Responsibilities:

• Build solutions based on business requirements.
• Implement the features and functionality of Business Aviation network infrastructure.
• Hands-on deploying network devices for production and corporate networks.
• Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with other business units to meet a common goal.
• Track project tasks, provide status updates and ensure tasks completed on schedule.
• Support process improvements, including researching and introducing new automation tools.
• Guide implementation of best practices for network design/development.
• Contribute to a healthy and collaborative team with a committed work ethic.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3-5 years in telecommunication, data center or service provider industries.
• Strong skills with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills, Experience and Talents.

• Excellent knowledge of Layer 2/3 IP networking.
• Solid experience with routing protocols (OSPF/BGP/Static).
• Willing to work in a tiered environment (Tier 2 and Tier 3).
• Strong network troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of VxLAN and EVPN.
• Understanding of MPLS L2/L3 VPN networks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Talents:

• Experience with Cisco operating systems (XE/NX-OS/XR)
• Good understanding of network security (IPSEC/RADIUS/TACACS/Firewall)
• Good understanding of IPv4 NAT/PAT and IPv6 networks
• Exposure to traffic management and monitoring systems a plus
• Scripting experience with Python
• Kubernetes, Open Stack, Ansible, Jenkins, Harbor, NFV solutions
• Cisco NFVI and CVIM experience a plus
• Knowledge of DNS architecture and solutions (i.e., DNS Bind)

Salary: $56,782.48 – $100,000.00 per year
