POSITION TITLE: Network Systems Administrator

The district’s Network Systems Administrator supports the rapid growth in technology and the educational tools that rely on technology infrastructure. This administrator is responsible for properly executing and sustaining many components of daily operations. Also maintains and assists in the development of WAN, LAN, WLANs across the district. Assists in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, server systems, and communication links.

REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in computer science or closely related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Strongly Preferred Certifications in MCSA/MCSE, MCDBA, CCNA.
  • Minimum of four years of industry experience as a network and system administrator.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school personnel, students, and the public
  • Ability to respond to people in a pleasant, courteous manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • A valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of a satisfactory driving record (WSP 5-year abstract), required at time of interview
  • Physical ability and agility to perform activities common in the computer trades, including the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages firewall, network switches and services on a converged network (Data, VoIP, Wi-Fi, Security Cameras).
  • Lead and communicate network and system troubleshooting or configuration changes.
  • Maintain current data communications solutions to meet new and evolving requirements; plan and execute the installation of new networking components to fulfill district requirements and planning.
  • Acts as Technical Lead on special projects supporting district physical networking infrastructure, wireless, printing, and district networked systems; configures, develops, and sustains the Mobile Device Management platforms JAMF, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager environment; acts as a lead technician for support issues between multiple project vendors; coordinates and participates in training with vendors, school staff, and administrators to meet the project’s requirements and deadlines.
  • Supports all operations of MDM systems and the associated devices; configures, develops, and sustains the Mobile Device Management; provides all training to end-users of the devices; leads and coordinates summer maintenance and redeployment events; assures quality control and tracking.
  • Responsible for site district-wide WAN/LAN network and server support; provide on-site troubleshooting and incident resolution.
  • Provides server buildouts.
  • Monitor network system hardware and software and manage system health.
  • Manages Microsoft Windows Domain Services, including all user accounts and email accounts.
  • Manages network file system shares to include DFS shares.
  • Manager of domain printer operations.
  • Primary contact for on-site contractor support, including site access, network location, and mapping assistance.
  • Team lead for site network outage events; provides cross-training to other technicians.
  • Lead on all network and server infrastructure configuration and maintenance.
  • Manage, develop, and test Windows Operating System Deployments to include Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Manage VoIP system, troubleshooting at school levels; provides day to day system maintenance and operational changes, including complex phone programming changes and design considerations.
  • Maintains documentation of configuration changes/modifications of systems and procedures based on district standards.
  • Provide planning and supervision for network cabling operations and installation, to include; termination, cable pulling, building pathway inspection; provide coordination with facilities and/or contractors if required.
  • Support ongoing security camera operations, including server installation and management, camera installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools.
  • Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.

  • Understands and supports ADFS, DFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management, Print Management.
  • Telecommunication experience preferred
  • Meets and maintains punctuality and attendance expectations

SPECIAL NOTATIONS:

  • Position requires an after-hours, on-call commitment to service the various district systems and assist with other technology breakdowns for the purpose of ensuring the daily functions of the district’s operations.
  • A post-job-offer physical will be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $91,953.00 – $109,670.00 per year

  • 10 hour shift
