Network Technician

Support expectations for the IT Network tasks below:

· Work the End user requests for new Network services such as network data port, Wireless request, or Voice over IP phone request

· Help with the daily run and maintain Network activities such as monitoring network equipment and UPS devices and troubleshoot services being down and to check with end users

· Document IT Network support activities and ticket resolution

· Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient availability or speed, to identify network problems or Analyze network data to determine network usage

· Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for end users or user groups

o Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment.

o Work a procedure for basic PC and Network Health check

· Install new UPS battery backup systems for network equipment in the network communication closets

o Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to Network systems UPS battery backup.

· Create or revise user instructions, procedures, technical documentation, or manuals (Data port, IP request, Phone support).

· Meet with telecommunication carriers about new service install, scheduled maintenance work or service cancellation.

· Monitor VoIP support mailbox for end user telephony issues

· Work new business service requests for Wireless and validate business needs

· Perform wireless surveys for new company locations

· Test and troubleshoot existing wireless services using hardware and software tools provided.

Examples or use cases for support tasks:

· UPS support

o Troubleshoot a failed UPS battery backup device and identify what equipment is connected to it.

o Identify the UPS replacement model and coordinate/implement the UPS replacement with team

· Wireless site survey

o Map current and new wireless network at the facilities using software and hardware provided

o Give recommendation on wireless improvements

· Network troubleshooting

o Check with end users to discuss/troubleshoot network issues they are experiencing

o Report to team and recommend solution(s)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $53,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
