Job Summary
The NOC Engineer II will play a key role in the engineering and management of monitoring, automated remediation, and systems management solutions. Responsible for enterprise monitoring engineering which includes the design, configuration, development, implementation, documentation, and support of monitoring environments.
Job Duties
- Maintain and enhance existing monitoring infrastructure in place to ensure coverage, proper alerting, and key metrics.
- Plan, engineer, and implement robust and cost-effective monitoring solutions for new environments or applications stood up. This includes understanding key metrics to be monitored through information exchange with the customer and any unique internal IT requirements.
- Generate, assess, and improve alerting with a focus on proactive alerting and self-healing processes and tools.
- Drive a high standard of quality and consistency across the monitoring landscape by maintaining, improving, and developing standards within the team.
- Conduct research on monitoring products, services, and standards to maintain current knowledge of emerging products and technologies within the enterprise monitoring space.
- Ensures compliance with Exeter’s policies and procedures, safety, state laws, federal laws, regulations, and standards.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study.
- Three (3+) years’ experience in design and implementation of global, multi-platform enterprise monitoring solutions.
- Proven understanding of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.) to automate tasks and analyze data
- Proficiency in REST API and JSON usage as well as Web services
- Working knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, PagerDuty, etc.
- Experience developing and deploying modern fault/performance/capacity alarm management systems and work with event correlation platforms for large organizations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve challenging problems in an efficient, maintainable, and flexible way.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within enterprise monitoring.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to drive the best possible solutions
Compensation Information
Salary Range: $60,600 – $83,700
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
