Role and Responsibilities

The Manager of Promotions reports to the Sr. Director of PMO and is responsible for architecting SEA Mobile product pricing, promotions and profitability. This is a unique and highly visible role within the Product Management organization with direct engagement with C-level executives. This individual should be comfortable interacting with executives and have a strategic mindset. We are looking for an action oriented individual that is passionate about business strategy, excellence in execution and increasing profit!

  • Map the existing “as is” promo approval process and define a best in class “to be” process based on best practices

  • Provide recommendation for new types and categories of promotions that help shape demand.

  • Manage weekly process of TIM submissions ensuring that correct data is entered by each account team.

  • Track approval of promos throughout week and provide updates / reminders as needed to approvers.

  • Send full list of promotions to leadership and TIM committee for weekly review.

  • Manage urgent ad hoc submissions as needed.

  • Define postmortem process and improve current TIM system postmortem function.

  • Send summary of approved/rejected promotions by end of the week with supporting rationale.

  • Understand the product lifecycle and the drivers of demand by category, by channel.

  • Develop and maintain pricing and profitability principles and rules.

  • Ensure that data is entered correctly into the promotions system.

  • Work with developer to define updates to the system and maintain parallel manual process while waiting for system updates.

  • Approve/reject on of approvers when needed.

  • Work with account teams to develop process to track actual SD spending from approved promos during the quarter.

  • Implement promo spend tracking data and visualization into system.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management, marketing, economics or related field with 10 years of directly related experience is required.

  • Previous experience managing promotions/offers/coupons

  • Telecommunications or tech background

  • Lifecycle management

  • Change management

Necessary Skills and Attributes
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company. Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects. Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for internal and external personnel at all levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or financial areas of clients, prospects, and company. Superior level of project management skills, including the ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identify objectives, create promotional materials, coordinate and direct project teams, manage creative developers, select and control printing and production resources, and manage budgets. Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Demonstrated ability to interact with senior levels within the organization and within external contacts.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% – 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel required 25%-30%. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
