Project Director

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Project Director to help our client transition to an IP based 911 call-handling platform and on an IP based 911 private network known as NextGen 911 (NG-911). The Project Director will be responsible for on-boarding the organization to the NG-911 telephony infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Developing a strategic plan, providing leadership and direction to the organization to transition to NG-911 network effectively and efficiently.
• Coordinate with 911 partners, stakeholders, vendors and clients to develop a thorough step-by-step detailed transition plan.
• Meet with organizational executive leadership to present and approve transition plan, provide regular updates, build a budget and approve financing.
• Build and lead project team.
• In conjunction with project team, partners and service providers, oversee the development of call handling platform to support organization needs and requirements.
• Work with project manager to develop tasks, timelines and milestones for transition.
• Work with partners, service providers and vendors to develop service agreements and sustainment plan.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in project leadership, technical business analysis and software project management.
• Awareness and knowledge of NG-911 initiative.
• Knowledge of 911 telephony requirements.
• Experience with public safety telecommunication, specifically telephony, systems.
• Strong organization and interpersonal communications skills.
• Experience with Canadian public sector procurement is preferred.
• Technical working experience in 911 industry is preferred.
