As a Project Manager with a preferable background in mass communications, you will oversee the development of a Statewide Warning System created to protect the citizens of Texas in times of disaster.

A Texas State agency that strives to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and provide recovery efforts in times of disaster.

Major Duties

You will work closely with Division Chief to oversee the development of a Statewide Warning System by:

  • Providing system design oversight.
  • Providing budget management.
  • Developing and managing work plans and schedules, resource management, development, and review of proposals.

What are we looking for

  • Background in TV, Radio, Telecommunications, or other State-wide communications initiatives (example: Amber Alerts and TxDOT notifications).
  • Experience managing highly complex, long-range full-cycle projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with contracts and bidding/procurement processes
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with senior staff.

About this position

  • Rate: $36 per hour
  • Length of engagement: 10 months
  • Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Austin, TX, 78751
  • Work environment: Professional, calm and quiet
