The company represented is a well-recognized utility construction contractor consisting of excavation, sewer and watermain, telecom and oil & gas projects throughout Canada. The company is looking to add a project manager to their team and would also be open to those looking to take the next step in their careers from project coordination.
As a Project Manager, the following responsibilities will be a part of your day to day operation:
- Attend pre-construction meetings with clients, stakeholders and engineers to better understand projects and requirements
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and contracts
- Prepare phasing and traffic control plans
- Issue purchase orders for rental equipment and materials
- Monitor site activities to ensure specifications are met
- Monitor costs of projects
- Opportunity to run multiple small projects
- Identify and provide pricing for change orders for added work
- Prepare and submit progress reports and payments
Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid G driver’s license
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of contract documents and scheduling
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Understanding of estimation would be a strong asset
