Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Falkirk (Flexible/Agile Working Option is available with this position)

Contract Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

We are Kier, one of the UK’s leading construction and infrastructure services, and we’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Telecoms team in Falkirk.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor, the Quantity Surveyor has responsibility for the back-office support function, evaluation, negotiation, management and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks for the contracts within the Commercial team of our Telecoms division.

Your duties will also include planning, forecasting, submission and agreement of applications and subsequently reporting contract commercial performance. CVR reporting for incorporation into monthly management accounts. You will also manage all necessary support functions in line with company processes and procedures, producing relevant information with emphasis on commercial.
Management skills are key as you will be managing commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement. Also, drafting of sub-contractor, major supply and professional services agreements and settling final accounts subject to agreed sign-off levels.

We are seeking candidates who have:

• Quantity Surveyor Degree/HND or equivalent,
• Member of RICS or working towards
• Experience of working in a utility environment.
• Experience of working with MS office applications and Cost Control systems (eg Siteman).
• Strong analytical skills, highly organised, excellent attention to detail and effective written communication
• Valid UK full driving license.
