The SR Director of Strategic Operations Valuation collaborates with Wellmed leadership to establish and monitor the value of operational care services and trends. Value is reviewed and establish based on relationships to overall health care expense, PMPM costs, and processes efficiencies for labor savings. This position will identify opportunities linked to cost and savings by evaluating resource needs, new technology and value of existing or pre-existing initiatives. This position works directly and closely with HCE and OptumCare to meet/exceed financial targets.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them
- Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
- Participates in the development of business strategy
- Develops and manages business plans to achieve objectives
- Supports the valuation of large, complex projects to achieve key business savings and efficiency objectives
- Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
- Advises cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams
- Supports leadership to evaluate utilization of care trends
- Serves as a resource to functional areas/internal departments and external partners regarding affordability trends
- Provides timely, accurate and concise communication to leadership
- Analyzes benchmarking data, reports, processes, and measurements as needed
- Provides data for leadership to make decisions of considerable impact and consequences involving current activities
- Interprets data, facts and/or trends and makes business recommendations to leadership
- Serves as the subject matter expert on ROI modeling to meet cost savings goals (ie; Cost Benefit Analysis)

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of healthcare, operations and/or financial industry experience
- 5+ years in corporate problem solving which involved navigating across all levels of leadership and working independently in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years working on high profile and confidential projects or programs
- Experience prioritizing simultaneous issues and asserting level of urgency
- Advanced level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience taking initiative while working in a less structured, high-profile environment
- Experience in healthcare or insurance industry
- Solid public speaking skills and experience delivering professional presentations
- Thrive on being challenged
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), time management and organizational skills
- Solid collaborating, negotiating and influencing skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
