RKF Engineering is a boutique telecommunications engineering firm specializing in the design of next generation systems and software for today’s most advanced wireless networks to support dynamic and optimized spectrum sharing. Based in the Washington DC metro area, RKF is seeking exceptional engineers and developers to engaged in complex electromagnetic compatibility problem solving.

Requirements:

Successful candidates for RF Telecommunications Engineer position(s) will have

  • ***Must current hold or have held recently a DOD Secret Clearance***
  • Bachelor’s or above in Electrical Engineering or Physics, other degrees considered with appropriate qualifications/experience
  • 7-15 years experience in the industry
  • Familiarity in one or more of the following areas: communications theory, link budgets, electromagnetic theory, propagation modeling, network architecture/protocols, RF systems design, antennas, wireless communications, signal processing, spectrum optimization, RF modeling and simulations, and electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility studies.
  • Strong technical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills spanning one or more of the following areas: electromagnetism, physics, probability and statistics, linear algebra, geometry, algorithmic design, RF analyses, and computer software.
  • Communication skills to directly interact with customers and represent RKF in a professional manner via oral and written presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead RF systems engineering activities including electromagnetic interference calculations.
  • Proven ability to work in a small team.


Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience working with the Department of Defense / Military Department spectrum community on RF engineering

Subject matter expert in electromagnetic capability and interference studies against federal spectrum dependent systems and commercial 5G capabilities

Proficient at using programming tools/languages to solve complex engineering problems, such as: C++, C#, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Node.js, Spring, SQL or other database options

Prefer the ability to support the development and use of software tools to analyze either co-frequency sharing between various wireless networks, algorithm and code development, use of analysis tools, testing/validation of analyses and analysis tool products, and documentation
