The solar budget analyst will provide overall Accounting and Budgeting expertise and analysis for Southern Power’s Solar Fleet. This role will work with SPC Operations organization on all Solar sites. Additionally, the role will support the SPC corporate budgeting and accounting groups to perform monthly invoicing and billing activities in accordance with various partnership agreements.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Budget creation, ownership and reporting responsibility for Southern Power’s 30 solar facilities
• Responsibility for actual to budget variance analysis and communication with functional, plant, executive management, and external partners
• Assist with information system development, implementation and maintenance for renewables fleet
• Assist with budgeting tool and reporting solution development, implementation and maintenance for renewables fleet
• Process invoices and ensure appropriate account mapping for solar facilities
• Ad hoc requests and projects

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Finance related discipline.

Experience

• Previous analytical experience required
• Advanced computer skills with Excel and Power Point; experience implementing new information systems is a plus
• Prior generation budgeting or finance experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with commitment to accuracy and detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with executive management, functional management, and other customers.
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple work assignments
• Must be able to consolidate, analyze, and summarize large amounts of data efficiently and effectively
