SR. COUNSEL, TELECOMMUNICATIONS


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on global legal and regulatory matters relating to Starlink, SpaceX’s low earth orbit satellite broadband internet business
  • Advise the Starlink team on domestic and international telecommunications laws, regulations, and policy
  • Negotiate transactions relating to the Starlink business
  • Draft policies and terms of service for consumer and enterprise customers
  • Advise the company on domestic and international cybersecurity, privacy, lawful intercept, and data protection laws and draft related policies
  • Other legal matters relating to SpaceX’s businesses


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of experience as a telecommunications lawyer at a law firm and/or within an in-house legal department
  • JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A mix of law firm and in-house experience
  • Deep knowledge of international telecommunications legal, business, and regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, lawful intercept and data protection issues
  • Knowledge of broadband, ISP, wireless and/or satellite industry practices
  • Understanding of both consumer facing and enterprise telecommunications businesses
  • Understanding of international corporate and licensing issues in telecommunications industry, including foreign ownership requirements / approvals
  • Experience with complex corporate structures and transactions internationally


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel.
