About the Career Opportunity
The Sr. Network Engineer is a new position for our organization and responsible for the design, configuration, and management of all corporate local and wide area networks, routing and switching solutions, and all telecommunications circuits and solutions. The Senior Network Engineer will ensure maximum uptime for all corporate devices and coordinate closely with third party providers for service restoration in the event of an outage. The Senior Network Engineer is also responsible for resolving escalated support issues, adherence to the change control processes, and incident response processes.
Position Requirements
This position requires a BS in an IT-related field of study or a minimum of 10 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have advanced knowledge of data networking equipment and topologies used in a financial institution including Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, 10BaseT Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g, and MPLS as well as in-depth knowledge of Cisco Internetworking with a heavy emphasis on switching and routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP etc.) and Cisco IOS. Cisco CCNP and/or CCIE certification preferred but not required. Must understand IP networking fundamentals (OSI model, frames, packets etc.) at an advanced level in order to troubleshoot network based issues. Experience designing and managing SD-WAN solutions is required. Familiarity with network security and its tools including but not limited to firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, network access controls, authentication, Active Directory/Azure Active directory, single sign on, and Group Policy and experience with server/host based networking (MS Windows, UNIX, Citrix etc.) is a must. Familiarity with network and performance monitoring tools such as Solarwinds is preferred.
