System Administrator

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for activities related to system administration to include virtual server and Windows/Linux virtual machines and appliances, storage area network, data center and site servers, high end storage, mobile device environment, output device services, email services, continuity of operations planning and emergency response, data at rest, system backups, imaging and patching support.
• Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work.
• Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• Education/Experience: MA/MS with 10+ years’ experience or BA/BS with12+ years’ experience
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II (Security+) and VMWare Certification version 6 or higher (VCP6)
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing a virtualized environment in a medium or large-scale enterprise that includes ESX, vCenter, Storage or similar storage technologies.
• Must have at least 8+ years of experience supporting Active Directory, DNS, Windows Servers, and DHCP

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

• Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.

• Security Clearance: Secret
