The Technical Application Manager is a member of the business application team and works closely with the departments using Thinkwise. S/he reports to the coordinator business application (line) and works closely with the business owners in the departments.
Objectives of the position
The Technical Application Manager is the sole point of contact for the applications built in the Thinkwise environment in the organisation and ensures that the applications run at peak performance and as efficiently as possible, from the end-user experience to integration with enterprise back-office functions (database, ERPs and SaaS cloud functions).
Main Responsibilities
The technical application manager manages the overall lifecycle of the Thinkwise applications which include:
Operations and maintenance (run)
- Correction of functional errors/bugs (Level 1 support), passing the rest on to the vendor and following up to resolution;
- Administration (creation new users, missions, access rights);
- Escalation of issues to service provider and/or IT infrastructure;
- Software updates and communication of the impact of the same to stakeholders;
- Production and sharing of regular operational reports of the applications.
Support to the users (support)
- Helpdesk for the users;
- briefings, on-board and training of new users;
- Maintenance of the application’s webpage/documentation;
- Regular webinars and produce tutorial videos for the users.
Version Control and upgrades (build)
- Inventory of user stories and requirements from stakeholders for improvements;
- Prioritizing Improvements on existing functionalities, based on backlog; passing on change requests to vendor if needed;
- Documentation of changes;
- Planning and follow up for delivery of complex additional functionalities:
- Planning of development sprints (project, Business Case, budget)
- lead of development sprints with the required stakeholders.
Organization and Communication
- Follow-up of costs and report on the performance of the application;
- Organize & conduct the meetings related to application: technical meeting, business meeting;
- Ensure the backup support skills in the team is maintained.
Candidate profile
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience as web designer and developer, preferable/also with Microsoft Power Applications.
- Experience with ThinkWise software and/or other relevant low code building platforms
- Familiar with the Agile project management approach
- Knowledge of:
- Issue tracking and project management tools (Jira or similar)
- SQL
- Web development languages (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and/or other relevant frameworks)
- Azure cloud services and DevOps (nice to have)
- Our working language is English so fluency in English is essential; French would be an asset

We offer
A challenging and exciting position in an international and diverse environment.
A Dutch employment contract based on 40 hours per week. The contract is for one year with renewal option (subject to satisfactory performance).
A gross monthly salary in grade 6 between €3,326 and €4,498 depending on relevant professional working experience and based on a fulltime appointment.
Other benefits include 30 holidays based on a fulltime appointment and a premium-free pension plan.
We may consider flexibility for other locations where MSF has a presence (subject to terms and conditions). Preferably from one of the global MSF locations and with the ability to adapt to the CET time zone. The local contract and salary grid will then apply and the local MSF office hybrid working policy will apply.
