Job Detail

Technical Designer(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in Los Angeles, CA to collaborate with design team to develop innovative design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs for large-scale commercial and mixed-use core and shell architecture projects under supervision of licensed Architect. Formulate design presentation strategies and present design concepts to clients. Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives. Assist Architect to establish design standards, space planning, and programming based on clients’ functional and spatial requirements while meeting conceptual design goals. Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings and construction drawings. Research artistic and/or technical issues. Produce high quality site plans, sections, elevations and construction details. Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts. Participate in project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and production.
Must have a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field plus two (2) years of design experience with the following:
(1) Translating an architect’s sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images using 2D/3D software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds MAX utilizing V-Ray, Rhino utilizing V-Ray, Blender, Z-Brush, MudBox, and a;
(2) Preparing conceptual design and graphic presentation utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Adobe After Effects, Adobe Lightroom, and SketchUp;
(3) Sketching by hand using pencil, pen, and markers;
(4) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design sets in Revit; AND
(5) Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, Dynamo and Processing.
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience. Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience must include experience with the following:
(1) Translating an architect’s sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images using 2D/3D software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds MAX utilizing V-Ray, Rhino utilizing V-Ray, Blender, Z-Brush, MudBox, and a;
(2) Preparing conceptual design and graphic presentation utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Adobe After Effects, Adobe Lightroom, and SketchUp;
(3) Sketching by hand using pencil, pen, and markers;
(4) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design sets in Revit; AND
