Telecom Analyst

Our partner, a leading utilities company in the northeastern US, is seeking a Telecom Analyst to join their team for a full-time, 6 month contract (potential for extension / conversion to perm). This position requires travel to various company locations within MA, so candidate should be local to MA (ideally, the eastern side of the state).

Job Purpose:

The Telecom Analyst will perform onsite surveys to identify and document all telecommunications equipment including, but not limited: devices, cables, ports, fibers, fiber strands, etc. across company-US locations via paper and electronic means. Responsibilities will include measuring and recording dimensions of buildings/facilities (exterior and interior), telecom rooms, equipment rack locations, and in some cases, device placement within the racks. The Analyst will also capture exterior and interior digital photos of all locations, rooms, racks, devices, cabling, ports, etc. After data capture, store information based on guidelines established for TOMS application and project. Experience creating one-line drawings and/or 2 dimensional drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus.

Travel across MA/New England locations required – the primary functions of this role mostly involve site to site travel across MA daily, so not a lot of office time will be required.

Primary Duties:

• Gathering all the circuits into one application
• TOMS project to modernize the grid
• Surveys in all the locations that house the telecommunication equipment
• Travel to substations and offices to understand and identify the equipment and fiber entry
• Validating the information across different operating systems
• Identifying different telecom equipment
• Types of equipment they are looking at includes DMX Sonit network. Channel banks from different providers and LIUs.
• 3 to 5 years of experience
• Understanding of/experience with utility equipment is a plus
• CAD experience is a plus
• Training will be provided for internal TOMS program

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour
