The Telecom Lineman will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, including cables, wires, and related components. The Telecom Lineman will work with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure that telecommunication networks are installed and maintained to meet industry standards and customer requirements. The Telecom Lineman will also ensure that all work is completed safely and efficiently, adhering to industry best practices and safety guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain telecommunication lines, cables, and equipment on poles, towers, or underground conduits.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing telecom infrastructure such as fiber-optic, copper, and coaxial cables, as well as telephone lines and related equipment.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed while working at heights or in confined spaces, using proper equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities performed.
  • Perform tests and inspections to ensure quality and reliability of the telecommunication network.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries or complaints related to telecom services.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team, including engineers, project managers, and technicians to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles, tools, and equipment used for installation and maintenance work.
  • Train new linemen on proper installation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical training in telecommunications or a related field.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certification, such as a lineman training certification, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in telecommunications or related fields.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Safety awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • New York, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Telecommunication (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (Preferred)
