Telecom Project Manager

We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager for a Remote opportunity in Arlington Heights, IL. This is for a 1+ yearlong assignment (with potential for extension or conversion).

Location: Majority of the time would be a remote work from home position, but looking for candidates in the Chicagoland area that would possibly be able to report to Arlington Heights occasionally.

Hours: standard business hours

Department: Network Planning

Responsibilities:

• Project Manager will track and manage action items and holds responsible individuals or groups accountable for deliverables.
• Incorporates action items into project schedule to ensure deliverables are met on time.
• Takes a proactive approach to each project to identify and understand risks and engage appropriate support before risks negatively affect the project deliverable (for example, impacts to scope, schedule, or cost.)
• Communicates regularly with the project team and stake holders through scheduled meetings, individual conversations, email correspondence, instant messaging, collaboration websites, and distribution of timely meeting minutes.
• Develops risk mitigation plans as necessary to mitigate risk during the project.
• Understand the technical Scope(s) of Work issued by Network Planning and the related Engineering Design Packages to grasp the architecture, topology, and technology involved in the project.
• Understand and identify up front, with the aid of the project team, dependencies and interactions that must be managed for successful on-time completion.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of Telecommunications, Networking including Network/Circuit Design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to perform simple to moderate process and analytical analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Project, SureTrak or equivalent project management software.
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) or a similar certification.
