The Telecom Group Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, facilitating professional growth among team members, and reporting metrics and statuses to the Practice Manager and the customer. They will provide leadership and direction to their direct reports and ensures that all projects meet their Cost, Quality and Timing metrics. This role is central to maintaining and growing relationships with key client stakeholders and for providing overall governance for the engagement. They will also be responsible for helping to grow the business and execute the current work-flow.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the overall program plan for our engagement including technical capabilities, project management, resource management, performance management, competency development and customer management
- Provide leadership and training in Telecom to the department and provide one-on-one mentorship and training as needed
- Establish, monitor, and maintain quality control standards for Cost, Quality and Timing metrics
- Oversee supervisors, leads and their teams, and ensure that all projects meet their defined objectives
- Monitor and communicate project portfolio health
- Hold teams accountable to project baselines; make sure change orders and/or revisions are addressed in a timely manner when appropriate and necessary
- Work with internal Telecom Teams as well as customer to drive business processes to make sure workflow and workload is efficient and effective
- Determine customer’s needs and work with customer and internal team to make sure processes run smoothly
- Distribute workflow from customer to the appropriate Telecom Teams
- Interface, and be the liaison, with the customer on problems and inefficiencies
- Provide support to finance team to ensure that all billing and invoicing activities are completed in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy
- Coordinate meetings with customer’s technical stakeholders to facilitate workflow development, scope development, issues resolution, work forecasting and planning
- Proactively pursue solutions regarding personnel issues including hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, attendance issues, scheduling and performance reviews
- Drive development and training of team and help determine potential training needs
- Support business development activities to achieve growth of the account, including the creation and delivery of capabilities and solutions presentations, proposal development, contract management and the support of general sales activities as needed
- Utilize Microsoft Office and customer-specific software/applications to complete all tasks
Education and Experience Requirements * * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, IT, Telecommunications, or Business. Degrees in other engineering fields may be considered on case by case basis; Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus
- Six years of experience in managing large technical teams of diverse skill sets; experience working in the Electrical Utility Industry a plus
- Six years of experience interfacing with engineering, construction, planning, and project management
- Proven technical/managerial capabilities in developing solutions to engineering and business problems and managing deliverables and client expectations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $150,000.00 per year
