Telecommunications Engineering Specialist (Junior)

Assignment Information
Our client is growing with the recent implementation of remote information technology solutions that help them enhance the delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual educational experiences. Technicians will be working on a variety of AV and IT systems to quickly and efficiently resolve issues.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of two years of experience in operating and performing first-line maintenance on AV suites. This position would be starting Monday, October 3, 2022, through Monday, July 31, 2023. Successful candidates will meet the requirements below and also have a valid reliability security clearance.

Location: North York – Located at the northeast corner of Yonge Blvd and Wilson Avenue

Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Pay: $30.00/hr

Job Description

• Install, configure, and operate fixed and mobile AV suites and related IT network software applications ensuring compatibility of all relevant programs, utilities, hardware and peripherals.
• Configure and operate contracted AV suites.
• Facilitate live and hybrid events using fixed and mobile AV suites.
• Conduct AV capture for live streaming and upload to video hosting services.
• Participate in the planning of AV activities requiring support and provide advice on optimizing the AV service.
• Perform system first-line maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinate with system integrator and OEM for second and third-line support.
• Some travel may be required.
• Provide client support for AV systems and associate software.
• Provide reports on daily activity, troubleshooting and resolution.

Requirements

• Reliability Security Clearance (If you do not possess one we can start the process).
• Minimum of two years experience in operating and performing first-line maintenance on AV suites.
• Experience facilitating live events in both hybrid and virtual environments.
• Experience and/or certification using Extron products/configuration and Dante systems.
• Some weekend work may be required.
• Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written.
• Flexibility with hours is required, hours may change if agreed upon with the supervisor.
