Telecommunications Lead Lineman

Location: Cocoa, FL

Type: Full-time/Hourly

Reports to: Field Supervisor

Job Description
The Telecommunications Lead Lineman’s primary function will be to work with and direct a crew to complete the work needed on a project. The Lineman will work with the Supervisor to receive the direction for the work to be completed for the day and then lead and assist his/her crew to complete the task. These tasks may include flying the bucket, climbing poles, hanging fiber optic cable, installing aerial hardware and supporting the splicing crew. The Lineman will work closely with the Bid Division management team, the Supervisor, subcontractors, and in-house crews to ensure the project is complete to the customer and industry standards. The ideal candidate for this position should be knowledgeable in aerial fiber optic cable including both lash and strand as well as ADSS applications. The applicant should have the ability to effectively lead his/her crew and meet deadlines set forth by the Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Field review and understand the requirements to complete the project to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • When directed to preside over Subcontractors, ensure that they complete their work to meet the specifications.
  • Work with Subcontractors and in-house crews to ensure safety, accuracy, and timeliness of the project.
  • Flying the bucket, climbing poles, hanging fiber optic cable, installing aerial hardware and supporting the splicing crew
  • Utilize Danella provided programs to hold Job Hazard Analysis meetings and complete the timesheets required for the crew for the day.
  • Track any changes in the project and document throughout the duration of the project to deliver to the Supervisor daily.
  • Work with the Supervisor to maintain project progress.
  • Compensation is based on experience.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Drug free workplace. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (and random drug screens, if hired), DOT physical, background check, and clean driving record for the past 3 years.
  • Valid driver’s license – Class A or B CDL license preferred
  • Must have reliable means of arriving and leaving from work at scheduled start and stop times.
  • Must arrive to work by scheduled start time and be willing to travel to all job sites without exception. (including staying away from home if necessary).
  • Able to lift to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to use iPhone and iPad technology and apps.
  • Demeanor reflecting company core values.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and work overtime when required.
  • Must maintain safety-first mindset
