Project Manager
Summary:
A large, nationwide telecommunications company is seeking a Project Manager to join the team! The ideal candidate is a Project Manager with experience in OSP/Fiber/Telecom. This role will be responsible for working with field management to ensure all company and customer requirements are completed during project execution. The Project Manager also needs to have strong communication with the company’s clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that the quality of work we provide does not just meet but also exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Determining what specific resources will be needed for a project from start to finish, paying attention to budgetary limitations
- Negotiating with vendors and suppliers
- Preparing and submitting the project tracker and other updates to clients
- Providing orientation, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching other employees
- Ensuring that cost standards are met by monitoring expenses and implementing cost saving actions when necessary
- Working alongside the Construction Manager to track subcontractor work, invoices, redlines
- Implementation and maintenance of project execution planning and management, to ensure assigned projects are completed safely, on-time, within budget, and to the quality standards required and expected by the client and company
- Reviewing production schedules, work progress, and making corrective actions needed to meet production/profit goals
- Reporting work-in-progress, tracking job costs and revenue, approving vendor invoices
- Attending regular meetings with project controllers and upper management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of the fiber/telecom build lifecycle
- Basic knowledge of construction accounting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- PMP highly preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Driven by results
- Ability to travel at minimum 75%
