Test Technician

Banyan Photonics Canada Inc is a rapidly growing start-up company and a leader in the field of photonics. We are currently looking to hire a full-time test technician to join our team in Kanata. The test technician is responsible for handling and testing samples in a clean room environment. The work is repetitive and requires meticulous record keeping. Knowledge and experience in testing photonics devices is a will be an asset but not required. Training will be provided. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

· Handle semiconductor lasers in wafer, bar and die format with extreme care

· Assemble semiconductor devices via pick-and-place die attach and wire bonding process

· Carry out test plans and procedures set out by project leader

· Record testing data accurately and keep testing logs

· Maintain lab cleanliness and tidiness daily

· Support engineering activities, such as design, modification, and assembly of test setup

· Work with basic electrical and telecom equipment in the assessment and characterization of laser products

To succeed in this position, you will meet the following requirements:

· Responsible, organized, and attention to detail

· Advanced manual dexterity

· Experienced with fiber alignment, photonics chip/bar handling

· Wafer level handling an asset

· Experienced with testing chips/Chip-on-carriers using probes

· Strong interests in learning new skills

· Excellent time management skills

· Able to work with minimum supervision

· Team player and adaptable

· trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.16-$39.06 per hour
