POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the Environmental department. Environmental: The branch of mechanics that deals with changes in the environment, including temperature, pressure and humidity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Test Setup – Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
  • Perform Testing – Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
  • Data Processing – After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
  • Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown – Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
  • Other – Perform other duties as assigned

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Under close supervision, able to complete basic technical and mechanical procedures
  • Some interaction with clients
  • Able to assist with basic troubleshooting and basic interpretation and analysis of test results
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices; basic knowledge of refrigeration/thermal systems
  • Basic mechanical skills; basic MS Office skills; able to understand AC/DC circuits

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS degree preferred
  • 0-3 Years of Experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
