Tower Technicians are responsible for maintaining the performance stability of line towers to provide the best network services for the customers. Tower technicians are often out in the field to conduct repairs and installations for the customers, inspecting the area’s condition, and reporting structural inconsistencies and defects. They should have excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge to resolve issues immediately and create resolution manuals to prevent reoccurrence and ensure the safeness and security of line towers. Tower technicians should be mindful and thorough in their work, following installation and safety guidelines, and instructions from the Tower Foreman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to learn and understand the use of safety gear while working at heights up to 300ft.
- Installation of broadband equipment at tower premises
- Install, upgrade, and repair cables and connectors
- Install, upgrade, and repair tower-top equipment, including bracing, masts, cable supports, RRUS, and antennas
- Assist with system testing
- Ensure safe rigging, hoisting, landing, and fastening
- Complete job logs and field reports
- Keep track of tool inventory
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Assist with new tower site construction
- Troubleshoot broadband tower equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve network outages
- Basic mechanical skills
- Installation and tuning of Microwave Dishes and Radios
- Ability to be ON Call and troubleshoot Network Outages
Skills and Requirements:
- Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, towers (up to 300’), and elevated locations
- Basic mechanical skills
- Knowledge of and ability to operate basic hand and power tools
- Follow cabling procedures for wiring towers
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Self-Motivated
- 1+ years telecommunication experience (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
