Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Coordinator Support employee to provide support to our Operations team in our Clearfield, UT location.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

Plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares, and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of

Job Duties:

  • Primary duties will be, schedules shipments of materials and products with pre-approved transportation services via air freight, railway freight, motor carrier, water carrier, or Postal Service.
  • Compiles and computes international and/or domestic freight rates and other charges for transportation services according to rate tables and tariff regulations per Schedule B’s and HTS codes.
  • Examines shipping bills to obtain description of freight and classifies freight according to rate book description within parameters to determine routing and best arrangements for shipment, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
  • Trace shipments; calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges; and reroute shipments of an urgent nature; arrange for special delivery at destination.
  • Work cell planning, coordination, and scheduling. Reorder point planning for internal and external customers.
  • Operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks (manual and powered), small trucks
  • Must comply with company policies and procedures and be willing to work in a defined TEAM environment.
  • Overtime and on-call duty be required.
  • Working 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications Level 2:

  • High School Diploma or GED (education will be verified)
  • Combination of 2 years of experience working in Logistics, Transportation, warehousing, or inventory management.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Advanced skills using Word, Excel, and an inventory database (Costpoint a plus)
  • Shift work is required (Primary shift hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM), but overtime be required. 9/80 shift.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Not required to start.

  • Combination of 4 years of experience working in Logistics, Transportation, warehousing, or inventory management.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Advanced skills using Word, Excel, and an inventory database (Costpoint a plus)
  • Shift work is required (Primary shift hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM), but overtime be required. 9/80 shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • ERP System (inventory control system) experience
  • Logistics experience
  • APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society) or ASCM (Association of Supply Chain Management) training
Salary Range: $34,500 USD – $57,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $41,000 USD – $68,400 USD
Employees be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
