Transit Systems & MEP Systems Coordinator

Reporting to the Systems Manager, the Transit Systems Coordinator is responsible for supporting Transit Systems, Mechanical and Electrical construction activities. This role will include both project coordination and interface management for transit systems integrating with station facilities. The successful candidate will work with counterparts to maintain department communications, track schedule progress, and coordinate with subcontractors and other construction departments.

Job Description:

Project Management

  • Collaborate with the Client and third parties
  • Collaborate with Systems Construction Manager, Quality Manager, Project Engineer, Safety Coordinator, and Installation Coordinators to update status of scheduled activities and implement actions items.
  • Manage processes and track progress of Request for Information response and Field Change Notice implementation
  • Prepare material take-offs of additional work for Field Change Notices
  • Manage Construction Action item log
  • Maintain Project Communications record logs (Requests for Information, Field Change notices, Meeting Minutes)
  • Coordinate the maintenance of Systems site office(s) general supplies and resources
  • Maintain Construction look-ahead schedule, with input from Coordinators
  • Accompany Quality team site inspector to assess readiness for access and quality of installation

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Cost Tracking of Time and Material Subcontracts
  • Maintain log of Issued-for-Construction drawing sets in project office
  • Participate in Constructability Reviews
  • Record and issue Construction Coordination meeting minutes

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high quality results to agreed budget and schedule
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a construction environment
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Well organized, self-starter
  • Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC as an Engineer-in-training is a plus
  • Instrumentation & control, electrical or telecommunications experience is a plus
  • Able to manage priorities to ensure operation deliverables are accurate, consistent, current, and timely.
