The National Retail account management team is a small team with a big scope – we help impact customer purchase choices at 1,000+ retail locations nationally. We manage a large scope of responsibility, from strategic planning, relationship management, and tactical execution to new business development. We have a finger on the pulse of TELUS’ most ambitious business unit and operate in one of the fastest changing industries. Our goal is to drive mutually beneficial outcomes with our partners and stakeholders that support our priorities, outperform our competitors and do it all while having some fun along the way!

You are an ambitious, passionate individual who enjoys collaborating with others and thrives in a fast paced environment. You are a strategic thinker who is equally as comfortable diving into performance analysis as you are at negotiating performance incentive targets. In this role, you will be responsible to lead all aspects of the relationship with our partners and will be looked upon to identify, develop, and work on best-in-class programs that ensure TELUS’ objectives are exceeded. The possibilities are endless when it comes to working with our retail partners and developing long-term sustainable growth.
Here’s how
Build and execute on a strategic plan to grow all brands and business lines
Identify and drive new channel opportunities, whether that be product line, programs and promotions, within your banner in support of National Retail’s and Mobility Solutions’ priorities
Lead discussions on partner compensation programs and promotional activities and negotiate terms for the best business and customer outcomes
Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with retailer contacts and internal stakeholders
Collaborate with the field, go-to-market, pricing and base management teams to execute on account strategies and achieve targets
Monitor pricing, programmatic and promotional activities and make recommendations to position TELUS’ brands accordingly
Contribute to support activities including sales and cost forecasting, tracking, and budget management
Conduct regular partner account business reviews and product presentations
Manage towards achieving or exceeding channel sales targets
Organize and participate in key channel partner events
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
3+ years of account management, sales, marketing or equivalent experience in telecommunications/technology/packaged goods industry, with a consistent track record of high performance
Degree in Business or a related discipline
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and social skills
Ability to analyze and interpret data to influence decisions
Proven ability to balance priorities and excellent time management skills
Track record of building and executing on strategic plans and roadmaps
Ability and confidence needed to effectively negotiate
Capability to work in an environment characterized by constant change and tight deadlines
Excellent collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
Above average knowledge of Office and Google Suite
Great-to-haves
Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian wireless industry and retail environments
Experience with third party retailers is an asset
Experience in successfully negotiating complex business agreements and arrangements
Evidence of continued growth through education, skills training, and professional development
