Network Engineer

Position Description:

This position is responsible for all network aspects related to our telecommunication and internet service provider (ISP) operational infrastructure. This includes responsibilities for wired, wireless, unified communications, network security, remote access, and computer infrastructure services. The incumbent is responsible for strategic planning, architecture, design, implementation, and operations of these services throughout the company.

Job Duties:

  • Install, configure, and manage all LAN/WAN and Telco/ISP network equipment
  • Provide enterprise desktop, server, and software support
  • Assist with planning, designing, and optimizing the network
  • Maintain network documentation and configuration backups
  • Monitor systems for trouble and proactively resolve and document issues
  • Point of contact for other providers and vendors
  • Primary technician for special circuits
  • After hours support and maintenance activities as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of an Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related areas
  • Eight years of experience supporting LAN/WAN and Telecommunications networks
  • Working knowledge of DWDM, T1s, BGP, OSPF, voice switching, VoIP, VPN
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, VLANs, network cabling, FTTH, DSL
  • CCNA or CCNP certifications a plus
  • Standard Driver’s License. Has and can maintain good driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug screening

Scheduling:

Regular hours are Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Will be part of an on-call rotation.

Pay: $72,800.00 – $93,600.00 per year
