The Security Engineering Program (SEP) under the Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening within the Professional Services Support (PSS) Program for a Senior Network Technician. The candidate is responsible for overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs, including planning, designing, and evaluating various network components. The position will be in the Morgantown, WV, geographical area.

Primary Responsibilities


List daily duties and/or specific job responsibilities.

The Senior Network Technician’s duties may include:

  • Providing specifications for network architecture.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities.
  • Performing needs assessments.

Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing, and servicing network equipment. Additionally, the candidate’s duties may include on-site support services and assisting in developing and ensuring adherence to area-wide procedural/policy changes. The candidate will be responsible for entire projects or processes within their professional area and works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process, or approaches.

Basic Qualifications


List the “must have” MINIMUM requirements to be considered for the position and ensure minimum quals fall within the minimum Leidos job code requirements. Example: Bachelors’ Degree with 6 years’ of applicable experience or 4 additional years’ of experience in lieu of degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. Must have 2+ years JAVA experience.

  • Must possess a minimum of a TS Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain program SCI and Polygraph.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, eight (8) years of experience in telecommunication, electrical, or computer engineering or related functional areas, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum often (6) years of experience as a Network Administrator, System Administration, or other Information Technology (IT) support services-related work.
  • Current 8570 or Security+ certification. Additional related IT support services certifications may be required.
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining IT system accreditation IAW required Government Information Assurance and Security regulations and guidelines.
  • Able to constantly stand to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods; frequently walk to access work sites while maintaining balance on uneven surfaces; make frequent coordinated hand movements to grasp, place, or move objects.
  • Able to occasionally: bend, stoop, and kneel; climb to access equipment, use ladders, and use lift carts; lift and carry objects weighing up to forty-five (45) pounds a minimum of twenty (20) feet; push and pull objects weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications


List additional skills and experience that is “nice to have” but not required.

  • Experience with PSS Program
  • Experience with HF frequencies
  • NET+, SEC+ and MTA certifications
  • Knowledge of Linux network security and administration


Pay Range:

Pay Range $84,500.00 – $130,000.00 – $175,500.00
